A fun song at an Early Elementary level for piano solo.
‘Harriet the Happy Hen’ paints a picture of Harriet, the queen of hens as she happily rides in her chariot, meeting and greeting her many friends who cluck and peck noisily!
The pecking sounds are brought to life with the use of a bright, sharp staccato and a sense of majesty and importance is achieved through ever increasing volume throughout the middle section followed by long, slow notes to herald the finale, which is a return of the first section.
The song concludes with a strong, sharp peck!
