Down the Gurgler (AGMS)

‘Down the Gurgler’ is an exciting, gymnastic ride across the piano keyboard!

Imagine pulling the plug on a whirlpool and being caught up in the wild water cascading round and round and down into the abyss … or perhaps flying at high speed down a massive, circular water slide!

The fun of this piece is also its greatest challenge – managing the gymnastics as the hands cross, at speed, from one register to the next.  Controlled use of dynamics is essential to evoke the image of the vortex.
